CHINA TOMORROW

Border crossings are always a more interesting way of entering a country, and those of you who have followed the blog will know of our various petty run ins we've had in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Tomorrow we cross into South West China, and Western will be returning to schoolboy tactics by hiding his rather bulky China Lonely Planet down his pants - at over 800 pages, it promises to be an uncomfortable couple of hours, but will hopefully mean we avoid confiscation of said book. Apparently the border guards are not happy that Taiwan appears in a different colour to China on the main map in the introduction. They'll be even unhappier if they have to fish the book out of my pants!
