Its getting noticeably hotter now – 12 till 4 pm being particularly fiery. Needless to say the locals don’t seem to sweat and even wear a second layer, usually something light like a denim jacket. One chap got on the bus wearing a crash helmet and sat there for about 2 hours, without taking it off.

5 MONTHS IN . . .SOME NATIONAL OBSERVATIONS

1. Brits are pretty much perfect, as are Kiwis and Canadians

2. The French don’t like to travel in groups smaller than 75 and they can’t get enough of that lycra

3. An Australian definition of smart would be an ironed singlet.

4. A young American will struggle to complete a sentence without using the word “like” 273 times, which is awesome.
