STRIKE!

ON foot today, as a citywide strike has been called in protest at the alleged murder of 2 young Nepali congress members by 2 young communists. Most shops closed for fear of broken windows, so shutters down. We spent 15 minutes in a photography shop whilst the protesters went past, again with shutters down, keeping quiet. Took a wonderful walk later down into the old square, followed by a cup of 'first flush' tea in the Garden of Dreams, a tranquil setting designed by an army officer who had been inspired by Edwardian gardens he had visited. Ell took a snooze.
